TASK FORCE 122--WESTERN NAVAL TASK FORCE

Flagship group: heavy cruiser Augusta, destroyer Thompson

TASK FORCE 125--ASSAULT FORCE "U," UTAH BEACH (I don't know why this wasn't Task Group 122.X, if it was under TF 122)

Escort Group:  Destroyers O'Brien, Jeffers, Glennon (hit mine 8 June and grounded; battered by shore artillery and abandoned 10 June), Walke, Barton, Laffey, Meredith (sunk by glide bomb 8 June); also several smaller U.S. ships and British and French ships.

Bombardment Group:  Heavy cruisers Tuscaloosa, Quincy; battleship Nevada; destroyers Fitch, Forrest, Corry (hit mine on D-day and sank), Hobson, Herndon, Shubrick, Butler, Gherardi; destroyer escorts Bates, Rich (struck three mines 8 June while assisting Glennon, and sank).  Also several British ships and a Dutch gunboat.

TASK FORCE 124--ASSAULT FORCE "O" for Omaha Beach

Escort Group:  Destroyers Frankford, Nelson, Murphy, Plunkett, and the destroyers listed under the Bombardment Group; DEs Borum, Amesbury, Blessman.  Several British and French ships.

Bombardment Group:  Battleships Texas and Arkansas; destroyers Frankford, McCook, Carmick, Doyle, Emmons, Baldwin, Harding, Satterlee, Thompson.  Again, some British and French ships also.

TASK FORCE 126--FOLLOW-UP FORCE "B"

Escort included destroyers Rodman, Ellyson, and Hambleton, along with some British and USCG ships.
